Thredbo Village is
in the Snowy Mountains of NSW just a 2 1/2 hour drive from Canberra and 3 hour
drive from Albury/Wodonga and 5 hours from Sydney. For those travelling from Albury/Wodonga
or even Melbourne the Kosciuszko Alpine Way is a sealed road offering an alternate,
scenic route from the Hume Highway, between Goulburn and Albury.
Thredbo is situated in the Kosciuszko National Park and the National Parks
and Wildlife Service collect an entry fee into the park. A daily fee of $16
or an annual fee may be purchased for $85 that also gains entry to all national
parks within NSW. This entry fee assists with the maintenance of national parks
within NSW such as signage and walking trails. For more information phone the
Snowy Region Visitor Centre on (02) 6450 5600.
By Air
Most airlines service Canberra Airport from major Australian cities. Canberra
Airport is located 2.5 hours drive from Thredbo. Several major car hire companies
